The global cosmetics market continues to grow rapidly. Europe, as a key market in the industry, has set stringent requirements for product safety and regulatory compliance. 2024 has witnessed significant changes to the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC No. 1223/2009), such as revisions to the restricted and prohibited substances lists, enhanced safety assessments for nanomaterials, stricter labeling and packaging requirements, and reinforced market surveillance measures. The Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), as an internationally recognized authority in safety assessment, provides critical support for the European Commission’s regulatory updates and serves as a trusted source of safety data for cosmetic ingredients. In 2024, the SCCS has introduced even more rigorous requirements for ingredient safety evaluations, underscoring the importance of compliance in the cosmetics industry.
CIRS Group will host an online webinar focusing on the 2024 European Cosmetics Regulatory Requirements on January 22, February 10 and February 13 respectively. This webinar will provide companies with an in-depth overview of the latest updates to the 2024 European cosmetics regulations, the SCCS evaluation requirements for cosmetic ingredients, and effective compliance strategies for entering the European market.
