According to the “Regulations on Administration of Administrative License for New Food-Related Products” and “Regulations on Declaration and Acceptance of New Food-Related Products”, three new food-related products, including Enzymatically produced steviol glycosides, have passed the technical evaluation by the Expert Evaluation Committee (for details, please refer to the Annex) and are released for public comments before Feb. 2, 2025.
Detailed information on the 230 registered Food for Special Medical purposes (FSMPs) (As of January 14, 2025)
On January 6, 2025, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued 2 new food materials. Comments are welcomed before February 5, 2025.
On January 7, 2025, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued 4 new food-related materials for public comments, including: 3 food additive with expanded scope; and 1 new resins for food contact materials.
As of January 7, 2025, the number of FSMPs approved in 2024 (with National Food Registration Numbers starting with "TY2024XXXX") has increased to 66, bringing the total number of approved FSMPs in China to 230. On January 3, 2025, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) issued the Draft Regulations on the Administration of Registration for Overseas Food Production Enterprises Importing into China to solicit public opinions. The deadline for feedback is February 19, 2025.
According to the information released by the Center for Food Evaluation, State Administration for Market Regulation and the Special Food Information Query Platform, in 2024, State Administration for Market Regulation issued a total of 1390 health food (dietary supplement) registration approvals, 346 of which are new health food products.
